Fix: New Task Manager Reverted to Old Design in Windows 11 22557

In this article, I will show you how to fix the New Task Manager reverted to Old Design soon after the update to Windows 11 Build 22557.

Soon after the Windows 11 Build 22557 for the Dev Channel a lot of users were excited about the New Task Manager with Dark Mode. Unfortunately, the hype died soon after, because of some weird issue that seems to disable the New Task Manager just after a few restarts. In the following lines, I will explain how you can quickly fix this.

Download ViveTool from Github

You will need to download ViveTool, which is a small app that will help us enable hidden features from Windows.

After you download ViveTool, you will need to extract the contents of the archive into the System32 location so that we can have full administrative privileges to the operating system.

Right-click on the archive and then click on Extract all. Select the System32 location and then click on Extract. You will also need to provide some administrative privileges.

After you’ve done that, you will need to open CMD as administrator and then copy and paste the following commands:

vivetool addconfig 37204171 2

vivetool addconfig 8749962 2

vivetool addconfig 35908098 2

After the command was run successfully, all you need to do is to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

You should now have the New Task Manager back in Windows 11 Build 22557.
