New App Picker in Windows 11 (How to Enable)

In this article, I will show you the New App Picker from Windows 11 Build 22563 and how to enable it.

In the latest Dev Channel Builds, we have a lot of hidden features in Windows 11, that Microsoft didn’t officially announce yet. In this article, we will talk about the New App Picker that can be enabled in Windows 11 Build 22563.

The current App Picker is really outdated and really needs a new design, so finally, Microsoft decided to work on this.

How to Enable the New App Picker in Windows 11

Download ViveTool from Github

You will need to download ViveTool, which is a small app that will help us enable hidden features from Windows.

After you download ViveTool, you will need to extract the contents of the archive into the System32 location so that we can have full administrative privileges to the operating system.

Right-click on the archive and then click on Extract all. Select the System32 location and then click on Extract. You will also need to provide some administrative privileges.

After you’ve done that, you will need to open CMD as administrator and then copy and paste the following command:

vivetool addconfig 36302090 2

After the command was run successfully, all you need to do is to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

After the restart, the new App Picker will be enabled in Windows 11. It has a really nice design, new rounded corners, dark theme, and the option to search for an App in the Microsoft Store. You can also choose if you want to use a certain app only once or always.
