Microsoft is stating the following: We have added native support for additional archive formats, including tar, 7-zip, rar, gz and many others using the libarchive open-source project. You now can get improved performance of archive functionality during compression on Windows.

This could also mean the End of some third-party tools such as WinRAR or 7-Zip, because a lot of users will most likely choose to use what’s default in Windows 11.
