New Windows 11 Features Coming in 2025 – New Start Menu Design, Taskbar with Small Icons and more

In this article, we will talk about some New Features that Microsoft is releasing in 2025 for Windows 11.

  1. New Start Menu Design

Microsoft will be releasing more options to the Start Menu All Apps Section, first of all with a New Name Grid Option, where All your Apps will be categorized alphabetically, but with larger icons and labels.

There is also the New Category View, which will categorize your Apps and those categories will be expandable.

    2. Taskbar with Small Icons

Microsoft is also going into the direction of releasing a small Taskbar for Windows 11, but until now, the only thing they’ve tested and is supposed to be released this year, is the ability to Enable Small Taskbar Icons.

      3. New Taskbar Battery Icon and Percentage

Microsoft is also testing different Icons for the Laptop Batteries, and the option to show the battery percentage directly in the taskbar.

        4. New Settings Cards

In the Settings About Section, Microsoft is adding some top cards with nice animations, that will help you see the PC components that you have, easier.

          5. New Share Drag Tray

Microsoft is experimenting with a new file sharing UI in Windows 11: the “Drag Tray”. When dragging a file, the tray shows up at the top of the screen with a drag here to share hint and lists a few apps. Has a more options button to open the share sheet.
