Emergency Update for the Notepad App in Windows 11 25H2 (Big Security Risk)

In this article, we will talk about an Emergency Update for the Notepad App in Windows 11 25H2 that fixes a Big Security Risk in the Text Editor.

The Notepad App has received a lot of Updates recently, that added useful Features such as Links, Tables and New Format Options in general.

In some of the latest Notepad App Versions, there is a New Vulnerability, that basically can allow a malicious code to run remotely on your system, just by clicking a link.

This is also described by Microsoft in their Official Post:

An attacker could trick a user into clicking a malicious link inside a Markdown file opened in Notepad, causing the application to launch unverified protocols that load and execute remote files.

The Fix for this Issue is quite simple and you will need to Update Windows 11 to the latest Version, which is the February Security Patch and then also Update the Notepad App through the Microsoft Store.

After doing all this, you should be safe and the Notepad App should be fixed.
