How to Enable Hidden Features in Windows 11

In this article, we will talk about how to enable hidden features in Windows 11 using Vivetool.

Although I talked about Vivetool before, I wanted to make a separate general article, which I can refer to in the future if anyone needs more info.

Vivetool recently received an update and got to version 0.3.1. This update does a lot of work in the stability part of the library and also a complete rework of the command syntax.

You can access the official Github of Vive, for information regarding all the available commands and more, click here.

For the purpose of this article, we will enable the Tabs and also the new navigation pane in File Explorer in the Dev Channel of the Windows Insider Program.

Download ViveTool from Github

You will need to download ViveTool, which is a small app that will help us enable hidden features from Windows.

After you download ViveTool, you will need to extract the contents of the archive into the System32 location so that we can have full administrative privileges to the operating system.

Right-click on the archive and then click on Extract all. Select the System32 location and then click on Extract. You will also need to provide some administrative privileges.

After you’ve done that, you will need to open CMD as administrator and then copy and paste the following commands:

vivetool /enable /id:37634385

vivetool /enable /id:36354489

This is the new command syntax in Vivetool, and as you can see we no longer need to use the 2 value because we now have the /enable syntax to resemble that.

To disable these features, simply use /disable instead of /enable:

vivetool /disable /id:37634385

vivetool /disable /id:36354489

After the commands were run successfully, all you need to do is to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

  1. it’s sowing this

‘vivetool’ is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.

  2. Is this still the way to enable these features? I downloaded vivetools in the System32 and ran the commands and nothing is changing. I would love to enable tabs and the bluetooth device manager, but not sure what to do from here. Any help would be really appreciated!
