In this article, we will discuss everything that we know about these issues in this Update.
Performance Issues – NVIDIA and Radeon Problems
First of all, a lot of users, especially on Twitter or Reddit, most with with NVIDIA graphics cards, have reported a significant drop in gaming performance, with frame rates decreasing after installing this Update.
It can also cause blackscreens for both Radeon and NVIDIA users and there have been reports of Task Manager causing driver timeouts as well.
Check the Reddit Thread below for the latest reports, related to this Update.
The issues above, haven’t been acknowledged by Microsoft, but there is most likely a connection between this Update and outdated Graphics Cards Drivers.
Connection Issues
There is also a New Known Issue reported by Microsoft, related to connection and authentication failures in Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365.
After installing the January 2026 security update (KB5074109), released on January 13, 2026, credential prompt failures occurred during Remote Desktop connections using the Windows App on Windows client devices, impacting Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365. The issue affects Windows App on specific Windows builds, causing sign-in failures.
If you are affected by this issue, use one of the following connection options as a workaround:
- Use the Remote Desktop client for Windows to connect to Azure Virtual Desktop.
To download it, go to Remote Desktop client for Windows (MSRDC). - Connect by using the Windows App Web Client at Windows App (windows.cloud.microsoft).
Microsoft is working to release an out-of-band update to resolve this issue in the coming days. More information will be shared when it becomes available.
