New Windows 11 Build 22624.1755 – Approaching the End of the 22624 Branch (Beta)

In this article, we will talk about the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build for the Beta Channel, which is Build 22624.1755.

Microsoft is releasing updates to the Beta Channel that put Windows Insiders into one of two groups similar to what they did back in 2019:

  • A group of Insiders in the Beta Channel will receive Build 22623.xxx updates that will have new features getting rolled out or turned on via an enablement package like how we release updates for Windows 10 today.
  • A group of Insiders in the Beta Channel will receive Build 22621.xxx updates that will have new features turned off by default.

This way, Microsoft will be able to test out new features easier.

If you receive the Build that has all the features automatically turned off, you can enable them manually in 2 ways:

  • Search for Update in the Settings App Windows Update
  • Use Vivetool to manually enable the features

Fixes in Build 22624.1755

Settings

  • Settings should no longer crash when attempting to uninstall an app while using grid view.

Input

  • Fixed an issue where the Pinyin IME’s insert text button wasn’t displaying correctly in some cases.

Fixes for Both Builds 22621.1755 and 22624.1755

  • This update addresses a race condition in Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS). The Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) might stop responding. This occurs when the system processes multiple local account operations at the same time. The access violation error code is 0xc0000005.

Known Issues

Search on the Taskbar

  • If you have the Bing button in the search box on the taskbar and you restart your computer, you may see the daily rotating search highlight for some time before getting the Bing button back.

Widgets

  • When you launch the widgets board for the first time, you may momentarily see placeholders of the widgets/feed cards of the old 2-column layout even if your device supports 3-columns.
