New Windows 11 Features Coming in August 2025 – New Start Menu, File Explorer, Snipping Tool

In this article, we will talk about some New Features that will be added in Windows 11, most likely in the Beta and Dev Channels of the Windows Insider Program.

Microsoft’s journey of implementing Copilot in every section of Windows 11 is expanding, this time with the Start Menu, File Explorer and Snipping Tool.

First of all, Microsoft is adding Live Annotation to Snipping Tool, which is a pretty useful feature, along-side the option to share, do a visual search with Bing and ask Copilot.

The File Explorer is also getting some improvements. When hovering over a file from the Recent, Favorites or Shared Section, new options will appear, which include open file location, ask Copilot, and a more actions (3 dots) button that just opens the context menu.

Finally, the Start Menu is getting a New Recommendation for Copilot/M365 Copilot that suggests a few different actions that you can do.

Unsurprisingly, Microsoft's quest to add Copilot buttons to everything in Windows 11 has reached the Start menu.
