New Windows 11 Update 22000.978 (KB5017328) – Last Update for the Main Release before Windows 11 22H2

In this article, I will talk about the latest Windows 11 Update for the Main Release, which is Build 22000.978 or KB5017328.

For those of you who are not familiar with how Windows 11 Updates for the Main Release work, I will explain it to you in the following lines.

Every month Windows 11 has a B and a C Release for Windows 11. Usually, the B Release is launched on the second Tuesday of the month and contains all the features that were tested in the previous month’s C Release.

  • Addresses a known issue that affects Microsoft accounts (MSA). The web dialog that you use to sign in or sign out might not appear. This issue occurs on devices that have installed KB5016691.
  • Addresses security issues for your Windows operating system.   

Improvements

This security update includes improvements that were a part of update KB5016691 (released August 25, 2022) and also addresses the following issues: 

  • Addresses a known issue that affects Microsoft accounts (MSA). The web dialog that you use to sign in or sign out might not appear. This issue occurs on devices that have installed KB5016691.

If you installed earlier updates, only the new updates contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.
