Windows 11 25H2 Coming Soon on Dev – New Features, Release and more

In this article, we will talk about Windows 11 25H2, New Features that are expected, Release Information and more.

At the end of last year, there was still a debate about whether Windows 12 would be a thing in 2025. Well, we now know for sure that Windows 12 is not a thing this year, but Windows 11 25H2 will be the next version of Windows 11.

Windows 11 25H2 New Features

For normal users, Windows 11 25H2 will most likely be a bit disappointing, as Microsoft is focusing a lot on New AI Features for Copilot+ PCs.

The number of Features for all Users will most likely be smaller compared to last year’s Windows 11 24H2.

If you have a Copilot+ PC, you should expect Windows Recall, the New Improved AI Search, Click to Do and other AI Features that Microsoft is currently testing in the Dev Channel.

Windows 11 25H2 Release

Related to the Release of Windows 11 25H2, the timeline is going to be pretty much the same as that of 24H2.

According to Zac Bowden, RTM is expected in roughly 4 weeks (by the end of March, presumably the 28th’s compile) and sign off shortly after that that puts Se RTM (actually going out to OEMs) in early April again which is what happened with Ge.

Se stands for Selenium which is the platform on which Windows 11 25H2 is based on, and Ge stands for Germanium, which is the platform for Windows 11 24H2.

As for the Dev Channel of the Windows 11 Insider Program, there’ll be a build jump (i.e. 278xx -> something higher) soon, likely next week.

As for General Release, the Release Preview Channel should get it in the spring, with GA (General Availability) in September/October by which point there’ll be a CU with the missing Copilot+ and other UX Features that didn’t get into the spring build.
