Windows 11 is soon getting a New Small Taskbar in Preview in the Experimental Channel and we already have the first few bits.
We all know that some of the Basic Taskbar Features have been removed since the launch of Windows 11, and the only option that Microsoft left us, was the option to enable a Taskbar with Small Buttons, the Taskbar remaining the same size.
In the press release from the 20th of March 2026, where Microsoft is announcing their plan to fix Windows 11, they are also mentioning the New Movable and Small Taskbar that is coming soon to Windows 11.
We have already seen some bits related to the New Movable Taskbar, hidden in the system.
Now, also in the latest Experimental Build, which is 26300.8346, we can see some small bits related to the Small Taskbar.
We can notice the New Widgets Button on the Taskbar, in a state that is ready for the New Small Taskbar with a smaller icon and only the temperature shown.
These are great news, meaning Microsoft is actively working on the New Movable and Small Taskbar behind the scenes.
