In this article we will talk about the latest Windows 11 Patch Update KB5008295. This update is rolling out at first for the Beta and Release Preview Channels of the Windows Insider Program, but it is planned for its release to the main build also in the following days.
Improvements in this Update
- Microsoft fixed a known issue that prevented some users from opening or using certain build-in Windows apps or parts of some built-in apps. This issue occurs because of a Microsoft digital certificate that expired on October 31, 2021. The following applications were affected: Snipping Tool, Touch Keyboard, Voice Typing, Emoji Panel, Input Method Editor user interface (IME UI), Getting Started and Tips
- Also an issue that prevented the Start menu and Settings app from opening was fixed for the S-mode only
How to install
At first to install this update, you will need to be enrolled in the Beta or Release Preview Channels in the Windows Insider Program. After that, just check for updates in Windows Update and the update should come up.
After installing KB5008295, the build number will not be changed or show as updated in “winver” or other areas in the OS. To confirm this update is installed, please check Settings > Windows Update > Update history.
