All Windows Features Removed in 2023 – Wordpad, Cortana, and more

In this article, we will talk about All Windows Features Removed in 2023 – Wordpad, Cortana, and more.

In 2023, Microsoft decided to deprecate or remove certain Apps or Features that are Old, or that are no longer supported by Microsoft.

Thanks to XenoPanther on Twitter for providing this list.

UWP Apps for ARM32

UWP Apps or Universal Windows Platform are longer working in ARM32.

Universal Windows Platform is a computing platform created by Microsoft and first introduced in Windows 10. The purpose of this platform is to help develop universal apps that run on Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 11, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and HoloLens without the need to be rewritten for each.

Windows ARM64 deprecated the whole WoW64 so even ARM32 Win32 apps won’t work anymore in Windows.

MS Support Diagnostic Tool

Old Troubleshooters in Windows are also getting deprecated and replaced with the New Get Help App in Windows 11.

When you open an Old Troubleshooter, you will be met with a message that Troubleshooters have moved and this tool will be retired.

Cortana

The Old Assistant from the Windows 10 days has also come to an Official End as Microsoft announces that the App is deprecated and also allows users to uninstall it in the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Builds.

TLS 1.0/1.1

Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a cryptographic protocol designed to provide communications security over a computer network. The protocol is widely used in applications such as emailinstant messaging, and voice over IP, but its use in securing HTTPS remains the most publicly visible.

This Features version is removed because it is very old and since then has been replaced over the years with newer versions.

AllJoyn

AllJoyn is an open-source software framework that allows compatible devices and applications find each other, communicate and collaborate across the boundaries of product category, platform, brand, and connection type.

This is also a feature that was encountered back in the Windows 10 days and has been deprecated this year.

WordPad

Possibly the most known App in Windows is getting removed in 2023 as Microsoft is not planning on updating it anymore. Probably features from this App, will be added to the Notepad App in Windows 11.
