Installing Windows Updates on Unsupported Windows 11 PC

In this article, we will talk about Installing Windows Updates on an Unsupported Windows 11 Computer. Can you install Updates, are there any limitations? We will answer these questions in this article.

When Windows 11 was first launched, everyone was wondering if installing Windows Updates could still be done even on an unsupported Windows 11 computer that would have Windows 11 installed using certain scripts or Registry Tweaks.

I’ve done this experiment myself and I tried installing Windows Updates on an Unsupported Windows 11 Computer and surprisingly I managed to install all the updates with no exceptions.

The machine that I’ve tested this on didn’t have TPM or Secure Boot enabled so I had to use some Registry Tweaks in order to install Windows 11.

In Windows Updates everything is normal and all the updates are still downloading. I managed to even update to the latest Windows 11 Build, which is 22000.318.

From what I’ve researched, the limitations will come when a new Windows 11 Version will be launched. So as an example, if in 2022 a new Windows 11 Version will be released, you won’t be able to upgrade using Windows Update on an unsupported Windows 11 Machine.

You will need to do the upgrade manually using an ISO, or again some Scripts or Registry Tweaks.

In conclusion, the good news is that on an unsupported Windows 11 Machine you can still install the latest Quality, Driver and Cumulative Updates.
