Fix: Microsoft Store not working in Windows 11

In this article, I will show you a few solutions for the Microsoft Store issues or problems that you can encounter in Windows 11.

  • Run the Microsoft Store Troubleshooter

To run the troubleshooter we are going to open the Settings app. Just click on the Search Box and then on the Settings icon or you can use the keyboard combination Windows+i. Search for troubleshoot and then click on Troubleshoot settings. In the right side click on Other troubleshooters, and then click on Run.

Windows will automatically try to diagnose the problem, and after that will recommend you certain possible fixes for the issue.

  • Reset the Microsoft Store Apps

Open the Settings App again by using the keyboard combination Windows + i. Click on Apps on the left side, and then on Apps & features.

In the App list, search for Store, on the right side of Store click on the 3 dots, and then on Advanced options.

Click on Terminate, Repair, and then on Reset. This process should completely reset the Microsoft Store and its settings.

  • Re-register the Microsoft Store Apps

Click on the Search Box and then search for Powershell. Right-click on Powershell and then click on Run as administrator. In Powershell run the following command:

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

After the process is finished make sure to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

  • Create a new User Account

Open the Settings app again, and then click on Accounts. Click on Family & other users and in the Other users section click on Add account.

Click on I don’t have this person’s sign-in information.

After that click on Add a user without a Microsoft account.

Add a name to the account and then click on Finish.

Click on the Account and then on Change account type. On Account type select Administrator and then click on OK.
